Yu-gi-oh duel monsters game is the second game in the Yu-Gi-Oh series. The video game is based on the manga of the same name. The player must defeat each character on one stage five times. After that, it is possible to move on to the next stage. A character defeated five times can duel repeatedly to get more cards. There is a fairly wide variety of characters in the game, which increases the interest in repeated playthroughs.

Starting Deck

The player starts the game with a 40-card starting deck, which includes 33 monster cards chosen randomly from a pool of 100 characters. Seven magic cards are also provided, which are always the same. There are a total of 365 cards in the game, the last 15 of which are secret cards. Most of the cards present were created specifically for this game. The basic rules are based on the mechanics of the manga. They are different from the more complex OCG format invented later. There are 315 regular monsters and 50 spell cards in the game. These are the only card types represented here. Despite the lack of Fusion Monsters and Fusion Deck, fusion can be accomplished by trying to summon a monster from your hand over a monster on the field.

Rules

Monsters have only ATK, DEF, type and description. Levels, attributes, and worldviews are not represented in this part and monsters can be summoned without cost. There is no deck cost and no limit on the number of copies of a card that can be in a deck. The deck must contain exactly 40 cards. A player may only have one deck at a time. Each duelist’s hand consists of five cards. Each turn has the same pattern. A player draws a card during his turn, he must also draw one card from his hand. If his hand is empty, the duel ends. The duelist with the higher number of life points wins. Only one card from your hand may be played each turn. On his turn, a player must attack or switch to a defensive position for each monster on his side of the field. Turn ends. A player always moves first in a Duel, but does not draw a card and cannot attack on the first turn. Attacking works the same way as in OCG and TCG. The player receives a card after each win or draw. Milestone rolls are also awarded after every 10 wins over each opponent. Thus, the developers have recreated a dueling card board game in the form of a computer game that captures the essence of the manga.
